Lakeview Lightning and New York Skie will press forward in a keen battle for the lead. BEGAAFD (7) is knocking on the door following a strong effort at Bunbury 10 days ago. Was good in the Soft conditions there and now gets Pike in the saddle as he's fourth-up off a long break. Looks ready to go to the next level now and can shed the maiden tag. NEW YORK SKIE (9) sat on the speed last start at Northam in a BM50+ and was narrowly beaten at Pinjarra in this grade prior to that. She looks well placed on the quick turnaround and should give a bold sight from the front. LAKEVIEW LIGHTNING (2) disappointed last start at Pinjarra but was back to 1800m there. Back out in trip looks a good move and he maps for a lovely run with Faithfull hopping back in the saddle. Sure to put his best foot forward. SUPER SAIYAN (4) will need a touch of luck from the barrier, though he's right in the mix on recent figures. QUEEN OF WHISPERS (10) looks ready to improve third-up and right out in distance. SUGGESTED PLAY: Begaafd on top in the opener.
