Should be a genuine tempo with Madiran pushing forward with Did The Trick working over from an outside gate. DID THE TRICK (1) dropped down to this grade and immediately found some form, finishing third at Arawa Park 2 weeks ago. He carries 3.5kg less this time, thanks to a claim, and can take this out. MADIRAN (10) fought on bravely after leading at Tauranga 10 days ago and finished fourth. She is likely to set the pace again from the pole position, and will take some pegging back. BLONDIE (12) raced a lot closer to the speed at Whanganui last time out, and dropped out sharply in the run home. She is likely to settle back this time, and with the aid of a 3kg claim, she is worth including in all multiples. SAINT BRIGID (7) fought on well enough at Arawa Park 2 weeks ago and will be seasoned enough to cope with what will be a very testing track. Michael McNab steps into the irons, and maybe he can coax that little bit extra out of this mare where it matters most. MURCH (3) will be peaking third up and can't be underestimated. SUGGESTED PLAY: Madiran will give a good sight for a long way.
