Genuine tempo from Rich Black leading Prima Vita. Grade 2 placegetter VELOCE ERA (2) saluted at the first run back from a spell last start over 2600m at Sapporo, scoring by 0.8 lengths. Has been given a let-up of six weeks since that outing. Open to plenty of improvement and looks head and shoulders above these. NOBLE RISING (3) resumes in a similar race to his only run last prep four months ago when he scored by a neck. Settles back early but winds up late. Will prove hard to hold out. RICH BLACK (7) returned from a spell three weeks ago when he was prominent at the turn before being beaten 9 lengths into fifth over 2200m at Chukyo. Has a fair record when second up, including two top-three finishes. In the mix. DANTSU ESPRIT (6) failed to threaten when fresh from a spell last time out, beaten 6 lengths into sixth over 2000m at Chukyo. One for the exotics.
