Off the low draw Navel Orange is likely to find the lead at a slick tempo. HIOGI (10) stepped out on her debut over 1600m at Chukyo two-and-a-half weeks ago and finished fourth, beaten 3 lengths. Likely improver who gets her chance. MONTECITO (11) wasn't far off maiden success before a 12-week break, finishing the prep with a minor placing at Kokura. Tackling a bit more ground this time. Good chance to open this campaign on a winning note. NOWA NA (5) was out of the money on debut two runs back then again missed the frame last start over 1600m at Chukyo, beaten 4.5 lengths into eighth. Worth another chance. NAVEL ORANGE (2) was out of the money when resuming from a spell last start over 1200m at Nakayama Dirt, beaten comfortably. Fitter this time will prove harder to beat.
