Genuine tempo with Wojtek to lead but under plenty of pressure in a keen early contest.
FASCINATION (5) was at long odds when finishing second fresh up at Mount Magnet 2 weeks ago. He has been placed in 3 of his 4 starts around this circuit which is a big advantage and he looks set to go one better, but don't expect a fancy price this time. ESCALATING (7) posted a brace of wins at the recent Landor picnic meeting and won't find this any harder. He drops back to 1000m on a 5-day backup and can complete the hat-trick of wins without it being a big surprise. ROMMEL'S ANGEL (4) has changed stables since her last start at Belmont and a change of scenery could be just the ticket. She looks very well placed in this easier company and can't be ruled out of a win here. RAGING BEAUTY (9) ran on late to finish third at Mount Magnet a fortnight ago when resuming from a spell. She has not missed a cheque in 4 starts over this trip and has a chance to break her win drought with the right run. Include in all combinations. SUGGESTED PLAY: Rommel's Angel each way.
