Fitter and will be tough to beat. TANGENT ARC (1) wasn't popular in betting but returned from a spell on August 31 with a sound second in a steeplechase (3250m) at this track, beaten half a length. Key runner - don't underestimate. VALLETTA KAZUMA (8) returned from a layoff last time out in a steeplechase (3250m) at this track, finishing fifth when partnered by today's jockey Kazuma Mori. Will come on from that run and is worth considering. NISINOPURPLEBRILLI (9) opened the campaign with a solid third in a maiden steeplechase (2850m) at this track then last start scored in a maiden steeplechase (3000m) at Chukyo by 3.5 lengths. Hard to knock the recent efforts.
