Solid tempo with several going forward headed by Regal City.
BUTTERLEA LAD (2) broke his win drought with a tidy win in his penultimate start at Mount Newman and then ran on late to finish third a fortnight ago at Mount Magnet. That sort of form augers well for this assignment and he should be right in the finish again. REGAL CITY (1) faded out after setting the pace last time out at Belmont in his first run for a new stable. He is better suited to this company and benefits from a 3kg claim to help reduce his top weight. His front-running tactics will be an advantage around this circuit and he will be very hard to peg back this time. KENTUCKY BLUE (6) raced on the pace at Mount Magnet when winning their Cup 2 weeks ago and is still well off at the weights with only an extra 1.5kg to carry here. Stick with him as he can go back-to-back. HAFEY (4) needed his last run at Toodyay and was runner-up at the trials before that. The blinkers come off and he should not be dropped just yet. SUGGESTED PLAY: Regal City each way.
