Ancient Scent should spear straight to the front of the small field. Tony Gollan has accepted with three gallopers and holds all the aces. On what we've seen LAVARACK (2) may be the best of them. Won his Maiden nicely here first-up posting a good figure and is sure to improve off that. The champion hoop sticks aboard and he can take the next step. ESPRIT DU JOUR (7) resumed beaten 2L here first up and has more to give over the longer sprint. Maps well and keeps the handy 3kg claim. MAYBE (6) is third up and finds a touch easier. Lang stays aboard and we should see more from her today. ANCIENT SCENT (3) peaks and is racing well enough to consider. Has been kept on the fresh side and may be the one to control the race out of an inside barrier. SUGGESTED PLAY: Lavarack appeals most.
