Hot pace certain with Honor The Name, Gladiatrix and Madam Rocs keen to take up the running. EMMA TWIGG (9) is a well-bred three-year-old filly making her debut. By El Roca out of Megara, she hails from the powerful Mark Walker & Sam Bergerson stable and has trialled nicely, including a minor placing at Tauranga. Opie Bosson takes the ride, and she will be hard to beat. PORTLAND (2) worked hard and didn’t quite see out the 1200m at Te Rapa last time out, finishing fifth. Her form prior was very good, and having 50m less to travel could make all the difference here. Stick with her. HELOISA (3) resumes after 4-and-a-half months. She has run her best races fresh up, and she will be a lot stronger this year. With a good gate and Warren Kennedy in the saddle, she will go close to taking this out. OCEAN RULES (7) returns from an 8-month spell and has been placed in a recent trial. A wide gate is no help, but she is still worth including in all top 4 combos. ARWEN (4) has won both of her trials, and despite a wide gate, she will attract plenty of market support. SUGGESTED PLAY: Emma Twigg is sure to be ready to rumble, and Portland is worth another chance.
