Nothing to run them along so the pace looks even at best. GYRA (8) failed to back up her good second at Beaumont Newcastle two-back, with a disappointing sixth at her most recent appearance over 1200m at Mudgee. Covered plenty of ground on that occasion and a senior rider hops back aboard. Improver. NARMER (1) was fair on debut when he held his ground through the line to run fourth over 1000m at Orange. Will take a lot of benefit from that performance and will relish this trip with the claim. BE GUIDED (3) returned for her second prep with a tough on-pace fifth over 1200m at Tamworth in a Super Maiden. Gets the claim again from the awkward gate and not without top-three prospects. STRASSMAN (2) resumes with an okay fresh record. Failed to see the mile out with a battling ninth over 1600m at Nowra last December. Now in the Melissa Harrison yard and gets map favours. SUGGESTED PLAY: Gyra is expected to get off the mark at start eleven.
