Theres nothing to run them along. ALIKAT (4) is edging closer to a maiden win, most recently finishing a strong fourth over 2100m at Te Rapa after coming from well back on the turn. That was her first run over ground, and from a superior gate, she is the one to beat in a very modest field. LAURA (7) has had 4 starts and has not been far off them in her last couple, including a last start fourth over 1800m at Taupo. The extra 400m is ideal, and she will be right in the finish here. THE FRENCHMAN (3) ran a much better race for seventh at Te Rapa 5 weeks ago. He won't get too far back in a small field from a good gate, and he has top 4 claims in this field. GUIPAGO (2) hasn’t fired in 2 runs back from a spell, the latest an eighth over 1600m at this track. The extra 600m is the key, and he is set to put his best hoof forward. Include in all top 4 combos. NERISSA (5) did not fire at Tauranga last time out, and her fourth before that at Pukekohe is the guide to use. She has rough top 4 claims. SUGGESTED PLAY: Alikat should be hard to beat, and Laura can make the quinella.
