GOING: H(8)

DUNSTAN HORSEFEED 2200m

Track: HEAVY 8     Out 3m

Strong pace from Riviera Rebel and Vamos matching motors with Peecee Pussycat close at hand. RIVIERA REBEL (1) had the side winkers on and was back in winning form with a gutsy front-running performance at Riccarton 12 days ago over 2000m. The extra 200m won't be an issue, and he will take plenty of pegging back again, especially with the same weight to carry. PRINCE ALBY (2) was fourth behind the top pick in the same race last start, and he will be hoping to settle a lot closer in the running this time from a superior gate. He is good enough to turn the tables and take this out. IMPERATIVE (4) has been mixing his form, and she is at her best when the tracks are at their heaviest. She loves the trip and should go close to winning this with only 54kg to carry. PEECEE PUSSYCAT (6) likes to lead, and he could make it interesting early on with the top pick. If he can find a soft lead, then he should be fighting out the finish. FULL OF GUSTO (8) is still a maiden but did finish third last time out in a very similar field to this. Stick with him for all top 4 combos. SUGGESTED PLAY: Prince Alby each-way.

At the latest run favourite; won by a neck at Riccarton Park June 20 over 2000m on a soft track defeating Star Ballot with 57kg at $2.80. The start before that ran second last of 12 at Wingatui on May 31 over 2200m, on heavy track; 14 len behind Imperative with 60kg at $8.80. Found his best form now. Will be in this for a long way.
