Can't see them going very hard with a lack of any real speed horses. RAINY NIGHT (6) looks the one to beat in a moderate affair. He was well backed first up off a seven-month spell and ran okay without threatening as favourite to finish midfield. Expect plenty of improvement off that and his only run here was much better than the formguide reads in a hot race. BOULDEROO (1) struggled at Swan Hill last time but had been going well prior and switches to synthetic for the first time now. He maps for a great run and can give a sight. PRINCE OF SPARTA (5) was just fair on debut at Sale on wet ground but may be worth another go on the synthetic. ROOKERY NOOK (7) ran first up in a stronger maiden at Bendigo and can improve off that. THE ARCHER (9) got home well here at big odds last time and comes into consideration. SUGGESTED PLAY: Rainy Night to win.
