Expecting Tagano Elpida to bounce to the front and lead from the low draw. BOND GIRL (10) kept coming but just failed to pick up the winner when first-up last start over 1600m in the G3 Tokyo Shimbun Hai. Will take a lot from that hitout. Although a Grade 2 this doesn't look any harder so she appeals as the one to beat. ARGINE (1) returns from a spell of four months after back-to-back wins to close last campaign, the latest over 1600m in the G3 Turquoise Stakes at Nakayama. Tougher assignment this time but should measure up. TAGANO ELPIDA (3) was too good when resuming in an easier race over 1600m at Kyoto last start, scoring by half a length. Fitter for that last hitout and looks a big threat to the top selections. SWEEP FEET (7) resumed last time out and finished sixth at Grade 3 level over 1400m at Chukyo, beaten 3.5 lengths. Has definite claims.
