Expecting Shanghai No Hana to find the lead but there will be plenty of pressure over the sprint trip. MEINER RECUERDO (15) didn't make an impact at his last run before going for a spell on 2 February, finishing sixth and beaten 5.5 lengths over 1600m at Tokyo. Has found a suitable race to launch this campaign. HIRONO EXCALIBUR (4) was out of the money two runs back then again missed the frame last start over 1200m at Chukyo, beaten 1.75 lengths into fourth. Best figures measure up nicely in this plain line-up. Sure to run well. SMART SELAM (5) has not raced since he finished 11th over 1600m at Kyoto on December 22. Has only raced twice so can improve sharply. GOODBYE WAVE (16) returns after nine weeks in the paddock. Raced once last prep and finished tenth, beaten under four lengths, over 1400m at Tokyo. Can kick off with a bold showing.
