MEINER ARES (14) is an eight-start maiden who finished fourth at his most recent outing over 2000m at Chukyo when coming off an eight-week break. Best form comes at today's trip so expect him to be right in the finish. CHANGE OF HEART (16) resumes from a spell of three-and-a-half months. Could only manage to finish tenth at the latest run over 1600m at Nakayama. Best form measures up so must be respected. WIN VERANO (6) has been kept fresh since sitting on the pace last time but fading to finish sixth over 1800m at Kokura seven weeks ago. Should camp just off the leaders. One to consider. RED STERN (7) closed last prep three-and-a-half months ago when he finished 15th over 1400m at Chukyo Dirt. Lightly raced colt with scope to improve.
