GOING: S(6)

MOSTYNCOPPER JAMES H B CARR STAKES 1400m

Track: SOFT 5   Clouds (Max: 26)   Rail: +6m 1000m-W/Post, +5m Remainder. (Pent: 5.54)

Expecting Lilac to take up the lead at a genuine tempo. ZEITUNG (2) raced without luck at both runs this prep and gets out to her right trip now. Surged late from the wide draw before being held up inside the final 200m when fifth over 1200m in the G3 PJ Bell Stakes at this track. Nice winner of the G3 Vanity in the Spring and looks hard to hold out. LILAC (4) set a fast tempo before being collared late with a narrow neck third over 1200m in the G3 PJ Bell Stakes. No excuses with J Mac aboard from the draw. CLEAN ENERGY (1) comes here in peak condition after having excuses from the awkward gate when a tough fourth over 1200m in the G3 PJ Bell Stakes. Maps well and gets her chance to run out the 1400m. Sure to be thereabouts. MORE TERRITORIES (5) back in trip and was warming up late when sixth over 1200m here at latest. Assess on her good victory over this track and trip first up. Value chance. SNOW IN MAY (3) far from disgraced when fifth over 1500m in the G2 Emancipation at Rosehill in the heavy going. Keep safe back to her own age group. SUGGESTED PLAY: Zeitung to win.
