Genuine tempo with Ready For Lift Off and Rewarding Belle up front. ONLY NEED ONE (4) has been about the mark since her last win in early February. Was ridden more aggressively last start but tired late to miss the placings over 1700m at Wellington. Meets an inferior field today and returns to the scene of her only win. Looks the testing material. INSTEAD (2) was lining up for only the third time when a tough all-the-way winner over 1400m at Coonabarabran last time out. Heading the right way and on a seven-day back-up looks well placed to repeat the dose. READY FOR LIFT OFF (5) showed pace but just lacked the kick required when a close fifth over the mile at Coonabarabran last Saturday. Has never performed well here which is the knock but in a thin field he is a solid top three hope. OMIKAMI (9) hasn't fired in her two runs this prep but she strips fitter now and can improve. VAQUERO (3) is a non-winner but has placed six from ten at the trip so must be considered. SUGGESTED PLAY: Only Need One to win.
