Makamae should lead but there are a few other speedy types who can keep her honest. Open finish. WONDERING SPIRIT (6) is coming off a narrow maiden win at Mornington at his seventh start, racing on speed and finding enough in reserve to score by a nose. Open to further improvement and the extra ground won't worry him at all. GENRICHERO (1) steps back up in trip now having worked home fairly at Flemington in a steadily run 2000m last time. Tricky ride for the apprentice but he's firmly in the mix. FLASHLIGHT (3) proved too strong in a BM56 last time and could measure up, finally in his suitable distance range. MAKAMAE (12) should appreciate this trip now and can improve. Include in wider plays. SUGGESTED PLAY: Wondering Spirit on top.
