A race that lacks early pressure on paper. MELDUBIOUS (9) was a beaten favourite when finishing fifth here last start when following on from a fresh-up second on the Gold Coast. The rise in distance is the key here, and with the expected improvement he can set the record straight. Follow your money. HEADHUNTER (8) produced an eye-catching late finish at Doomben, charging home to get within 1.5 lengths of the winner. A repeat of that effort will see him right in the finish again. ALDOLFITO (1) has been racing consistently this prep, recording 2 placings from 5 starts, and from the inside draw, he maps to enjoy every opportunity. Stick with him on an each-way basis. GAMBINO (5) capped off a solid form line with a well-deserved win at the Gold Coast 18 days ago. He cops a decent gate, and in a field that is not much tougher, he can repeat the dose. ROGUERY (6) has been bought out of Victoria, and makes his debut from the powerful Tony Gollan stable, who usually has immediate results with similar types. Use the market as a guide.
