Melkor is the likely leader and should be able to get there comfortably. EL SPEEDY MAN (4) stepped up to this trip here nearly 3 weeks ago and bolted in to score by over 4 lengths. He skips a couple of grades for this, and because of that, he will drop 3kg, making him the one to beat again. CHEAP SAV (5) got going late when racing into second-place here last week. She usually holds her form when fit, and with an extra 450m here being ideal, she can have the last say. ABOVE THE CLOUDS (1) will appreciate stepping up to a middle distance for the first time this prep, and she has won 3 of her 4 starts here over this trip. A form reversal is on the cards. DANCIN IN THE DARK (2) drops in class, and he has placed on this surface in the past. Stick with him on an each-way basis. GINA ROSA (6) backed up quickly here last time out and got going late to finish fifth over 1550m. The extra 450m here is the key, and she is capable of figuring in the finish at a decent each-way price. SUGGESTED PLAY: Cheap Sav each way.
