Off the low draw Magnetic Chess should lead at a genuine tempo. Handy race but liked the debut win of HERE'S MATILDA (14) who settled midfield off a good speed and really came away late. The margin was less than a length but the late sectionals were great and 1400m from a soft gate down in the weights says she can go again. BEECHWORTH (2) was a smart winner fresh and backed it up with a good placing in better company at Caulfield, sitting close to a fast pace won by Cruiserweight. He looks nicely placed here. THE MEAN FIDDLER (9) has been up a while but has been racing in good 3yo company throughout the winter, respecting if the yard can get him to bounce back. CINTURATO (1) is consistent and ties in with that Clevor Trever formline which has been strong over the past few months. AITU (10) ran well fresh and could sneak into the exotics at odds.
