Strong tempo, primarily from Stay Silent and Chest Of Gold. Competitive finish. BOTANICAL BOY (8) resumes. He's a progressive sort who put up two strong winning performances last time in before being sent out $2.50 favourite in tougher company at Flemington. He's jumped out well and if ready to go, he's got the class. DANTOOINE (11) has the race fitness advantage, just finding one better over 1500m his past couple of starts. Fancy back to 1400m where he won prior suits a touch better, go close. Wary of the unbeaten CRUISERWEIGHT (17) who has won both to date, resuming at Swan Hill with a soft victory having bolted in New Zealand on debut. Draw makes it tough but look for him late. CHEST OF GOLD (6) struggled fresh on heavy going but is better than that and can improve sharply. KAHHOF (5) has claims in best and is capable of better. SUGGESTED PLAY: Botanical Boy on top.
