Expecting a strong gallop with Illustrious and Digger taking up the running over Ark Kay. TIMETOPLAYTHEGAME (7) needed his first 2 starts back from a spell, and then put the writing on the wall with a gritty second by a nose at Te Aroha nearly 4 weeks ago, in a race that has had its form franked since then. He is down in weight and set to go one better. ILLUSTRIOUS (6) made progress early last prep before training off. He resumes from a spell that would have done him the world of good, and Robbie Patterson will have him ready to rumble fresh. LADY IMPENDING (9) has been rather disappointing in 3 runs back from a spell, but it is important to note that both of her career wins have come here on soft ground. Stick with her.
