Despite the wide draw Power Reece has the dash to cross and lead a low-pressure contest. The well-related THE BIG BLUE (10) (half to 2xG3 winner and G1 placed Annavisto) is a former NSW galloper who hit the frame when having his first run for the new stable and gets plenty of weight off with the 3kg claim. Drawn to get a nice run from gate three and shapes as one of the leading contenders in this contest. VALOROUS POWER (2) has gotten better with each run this campaign and looks ready for the step-up in trip now. Should prove hard to hold out. RIEZ SOUVENT (5) is a bit hit or miss but is more than capable enough on his day. Respect the Waller/Maloney combination. BODHRAN (6) also hails from a handy family (half to G3 winner Gaulois) and is another to get some weight relief. In the mix.
