A solid tempo on the cards with Stand Alone taking charge. GLOUF (3) looks an above-average gelding resuming for the Clarken camp. Flashed home from a long way back at Gawler on debut back in Feb then went amiss at his second start before heading straight for a spell. Has trialled well in readiness and draws the A1. Looks the one to beat. DIRTY GOLD (8) has tacked on into fourth in his first two starts but has since been freshened with 56 days in between and has been kept up to the mark with a jumpout win. Gets a key switch in Holder and draws well. Taking seriously. SUMMERTIME MADNESS (1) only warmed into it late when resuming at Balaklava and made good inroads to grab third. Is likely to drift back from the wide alley so he'll be hoping they roll along at a good clip for him to launch late. STAND ALONE (12) was much better in her second start when nabbed on the line after leading. Fitter and can give another sight. BELLE MONTAGNE (7) will be doing her best work late. SUGGESTED PLAY: Glouf to win.
