Strong early tempo with Dark Legacy and Smokin' Giant leading the way. Competitive. SMOKIN' GIANT (4) has switched barns on a 43-day return. He was better last time on the synthetic and his turf form last campaign over this distance more than stacks up. He maps well and Egan's booking suggests he's pleasing. TALLINGAS PRINCE (3) was quickly back on track beaten 1.9L at Tatura in a 64. Three back he was beaten a whisker here over this trip impressing. Has an awkward barrier but is on a 7-day return and will settle back and hit the line hard. Stablemate FIFI BLUE (1) followed the big 58 win at Gundagai with a decent effort at Sandown-Lakeside in stronger than this. The 3kg claim offsets some of the weight lift, but she draws outside and is going to need luck. DANCING DUCK (12) is third up and has decent relative figures over middle distances. Steps up from the mile and sits down in the weights. SUGGESTED PLAY: Going with Smokin' Giant.
