GOING: AW

SMSFLC Class 1 Plate 1200m

Track: AW     Rail: True.

Without a great deal of early pace evident Warrior Chief may lead the way over Gotebo. WATERMELON (5) was not far away on this surface in a couple of starts last season and has had 2 starts back from a spell this prep. He benefits from a 3kg claim and will appreciate dropping back to 1200m. A good draw gives him a real chance of taking this out. WARRIOR CHIEF (7) found the front at Beaudesert last week and was too slick, scoring by nearly a length. She carries 2kg less this time thanks to a claim and has the scope to win again in a field that is not much stronger. DELIBES (1) found some form at the backend of his last prep and showed further improvement when scoring his maiden win fresh up by a short-head here a fortnight ago. He can make full use of the pole position and will give another good account of himself. Each-way. SEVENTIES HIT (4) will be peaking third-up after running on late to finish third on this track 2 weeks ago. The extra 150m is ideal and he should be right in the finish. SUGGESTED PLAY: Watermelon each-way.
