Little early pressure with The Old Lion, Olly's Fortune and Dougal Mckeen prominent. DOUGAL MCKEEN (2) was shuffled back through the field and didn't recover under a big weight over 1400m at Bendigo last start. Has raced twice at this slightly longer trip for two placings. Nicely in after the claim and draws a bit better so expect a return to form. GOATS ON OATS (1) has found the line well to just miss the placings at all three runs this time in work, the latest over this distance at Yarra Valley. Cherry ripe and with the blinkers back on he looks ready to peak. On-pacer SURELY SPECIAL (6) made it two minor placings in a row when he battled on well for second over the mile at Ballarat last Monday. Worth plenty of though on the five-day back-up. OLLY'S FORTUNE (5) improved sharply when second-up at Hamilton recently. Scored third-up last prep so he should be very competitive. MISTER BUSINESSMAN (4) stormed home to just miss first-up at Hamilton over 1400m. Good second-up performer with definite claims. SUGGESTED PLAY: Dougal Mckeen each-way in an even contest.
