Good pace from Querari's Dream, Pongola and Porfirio. PORFIRIO (1) is better than his last start run over 1800m would suggest as he over raced in the early stages and was reported to be not striding out. He was an easy winner of his penultimate start over 1400m on the polytrack. He has won on this course previously and from pole position, he can go close. GORGEOUS DUDE (2) won a game race in his last start over 1400m on this course. He finished second in his penultimate outing over this course and distance. He is in a good space and merits healthy respect. PONGOLA (6) was running on when third over this course and distance last time. Rachel Venniker knows him well and he will storming home late. FIREBURST (7) was well fancied on the back of a couple of minor placings but could only manage eighth last start over 1600m at Scottsville. Worth noting K Matsunyane is the change of rider. Has the pace to settle in the leading division and has each-way claims.
