Solid tempo anticipated with Star Kanazawa taking charge. LOVE AND LUCKY (3) flew the gates and led throughout to score by 1.5 lengths last start over today's journey at this track. Yuma Shibata who has three wins when partnering stays on. Should be hard to stop. STAR KANAZAWA (7) improved sharply on her fifth two starts back at Kasamatsu with a win over 1400m at Kasamatsu two-and-a-half weeks ago, getting home by 4 lengths after being in the firing line on the bend. Finds a suitable race and can figure in the finish. BILLIE'S BOUNCE (1) resumed over 1400m at this track last time out and finished third, beaten 8 lengths. Has a very strong second-up record, including two wins, and has plenty of upside with the run under his belt. One of the better chances. RIKO BULAT (8) missed the placings two runs back then didn't do any better last start when 10 lengths away in tenth over 1200m at Ohi. Suitably placed so can turn things around.
