Tricky, given the lack of early speed. HARDHEAD (6) quickly got out to 1450m but almost pulled off a boil-over at Quirindi last time out. Not the most reliable conveyance but in this company another run like the last will be good enough. JU TWO (2) has raced twice since a good spell and been about the mark both times, most recently just six days ago here at this trip. Fitter and can win without surprising. MAD HARRY (8) is a twenty-three-start maiden which sounds alarm bells but has placed four from seven on wet tracks so keep that in mind on the soft track. VENCE (3) is first-up after a break of seven months and has transferred to the Stirling Osland stable. Lightly raced gelding who has showed glimpses of ability and is worth monitoring for market confidence. REAL HOUSEWIVES (10) found the line well and wasn't beaten far when resuming over 1200m at Tamworth last start. Yet to fill a placing in her career but that latest effort was encouraging. SUGGESTED PLAY: Hardhead to win.
