Plenty of speed runners engaged, with Global Reef, Mr Fox and Pisces prominent. HOME REEF (3) after having placed third in his two previous runs won a game race over 2000m on the polytrack last time. He is in a good space and jumps from the inside draw. He meets the right field and can follow up with another victory. MR FOX (1) was an easy winner when shedding his maiden tag over 1600m last time when sent out as the odds-on favourite. He should have no issues with the rise to 1900m. He is up in weight but looks to have ability and can go back-to-back. KAROO GOLD (4) ran a fair race over 1600m on the polytrack last time out when finishing fourth of 11 over 1600m in what was his second run this prep. Racing in a fitter state has place prospects. GEORGE HANDEL(2) is having his first run from the Zietsman Oosthuizen stable. He drops in the ratings and will be ideally suited to this course. Apprentice Nirvan Nastili takes 2.5kgs off his back and he can turn his recent form around.
