Anticipate King Charles, Christmas Star and Drama Dodger to set a strong tempo.
PEWTER PEARL (6) is a progressive filly who led all the way to take out a Class 1 over this distance at Moruya last start. Beautifully drawn to lead again or take a sit. Steps up a level now but she has the talent to cope. TRANSACTIONS (3) scored first-up over this distance at Corowa then looked to have every chance but didn't quite get a strong 1200m at Mudgee last time. Coming back to this distance with the blinkers reapplied looks an appealing scenario. DRAMA DODGER (7) had been racing in great heart until a last start failure over 1200m at Goulburn. Has two wins and three placings from eight tries at 1000m. Can bounce back with the help of the inside gate. SUTTON VELLA (2) made late ground to finish third when resuming in open company over this trip at Orange recently. Distance specialist who is back in class today but does have 62.5kgs to contend with. Each-way. CHRISTMAS STAR (5) has been in the money at five of six runs here at this distance. Hard to knock. SUGGESTED PLAY: Pewter Pearl on top but the chances run deep.
