Reasonable tempo with Midnight Ruler probably leading but a few others should keep him honest. MY MATE SONNY (2) is progressing well this preparation. Opened with a fifth at this track two starts back then got the job done by a neck last time out after being in the firing line on the turn over this track and trip. Finds a suitable assignment and can make it back-to-back wins. THERE GOES MY HERO (6) doesn't win out of turn but did a good job last start to finish third over 1350m at this track, beaten 2.5 lengths. Faces an easier assignment so he is perfectly placed to score. POWER PRIMO (10) scored at her most recent appearance, getting home by 1.3 lengths over 1210m at this track. That continued the good form this campaign. Solid chance again. THE WIRRULLA BOY (11) progressed nicely last start to finish a close third here after missing the placings at the previous appearance. Finds a suitable race and can build on that solid recent effort. LAVA LAD (3) is knocking on the door and deserves his chance. SUGGESTED PLAY: My Mate Sonny gets the nod.
