Even tempo with Narmer crossing from the outside gate and leading. NARMER (5) went close at Orange on debut before a 1L defeat at this track over 1300m. Will need some luck pushing forward from an awkward gate but he's ready to win. MISS MAVERICK (11) finished just ahead of the above in the same contest and was beaten 0.7L at Tamworth and Orange the two prior. She also draws wide but settles back in the running anyway and will be hitting the line hard. CASTRO (1) peaks and reckon his chances on his head defeat here two back over this trip. Was plainer at the track last time over a mile as a $2F. Deserves another chance. NIGHTWALKER (6) brings narrow defeats at this venue and maps for the run of the race. Keeps the 2kg claim and is in the mix. FORTIANS (2) won't be far away. SUGGESTED PLAY: Leaning to Narmer.
