Genuine pace with Ellie's Song finding the front but it won't be a picnic with a few other speedy types engaged. BAR LA LA (9) faced the starter for the first time at Yarra Valley over 1209m and the fitness gave out late. Jumped a short-priced favourite and a top metro barn will have her improved. Tough to beat. MONIX (2)has been in the money five times including last start over 1200m at Horsham. Fitter again and has a sound record here with two top-three finishes from three starts. A threat. FOXIET (11) is also third-up and was much better at Ararat last time. Can get some of the money if the awkward gate is managed. MUKATILA (13) finished 3.5 lengths from the winner over 1170m at Wangaratta and has plenty of scope for improvement. Has an inside gate and keep onside. ELLIE'S SONG (8) resumes off a long break and has trialled well. Might be the best of the rest. SUGGESTED PLAY: Bar La La to win.
