Genuine tempo with Burj Emperor to lead but under plenty of pressure in a keen early contest. GIN RUMMY (13) is on the quick back-up after a solid run over 1200m at Gawler. He's fitter and the step to 1400m looks perfect. He's a three-year-old with a bit of upside and will be hard to beat. MERCHANT BOSS (3) has to carry the big weight but he must be a top-three chance based on his consistent form. THE SPRINKLER (8) was a hard watch last start. He only beat one rival home but he never saw daylight. Expect he will be able to bounce back to his prior form, which looks good for this. Keep an eye on market moves with FLASHING STEEL (2), who debuts for a new stable, while SIR RANDOLPH (10) is another to consider for wider plays and quaddies. SUGGESTED PLAY: Gin Rummy looks a great play on a 1x3 basis.
