RABBITEYE (1) is back from a spell of three-and-a-half months and does go well when fresh, including a win to launch last campaign over 2000m at this track. Will be tough to beat. NIGHT SLUGGER (5) has not appeared since he finished sixth over 2200m at Kyoto on April 27. Hasn't scored when fresh from a break but generally races well with three minor placings. Expect him to play a major role. CARINO (4) scored a dominant win at Fukushima over 2000m at his latest appearance on April 26. Boasts three minor placings when returning from a break. Looks one of the genuine hopes in the race. TAKETOMBO (8) is a consistent performer with three minor placings from three starts this prep. Good effort last start when runner-up over 2000m at Kyoto. Must be included in this sort of form.
