WEST COAST (1) is a champion jumper at his best, and he will be nearing that sort of form now after having 3 runs back from a spell. He has been waiting for the bigger fences, and can show us that he has lost none of his brilliance here. Hard to beat. JAKAMA KRYSTAL (2) was well ridden to score a decisive win at Te Rapa 8 days ago, and she should have no trouble with the extra 900m. She has won twice on the track and is ready to take the next step here. SMUG (10) was disqualified after winning at his first time over the steeples at Trentham 15 days ago. This is much tougher, but he has a future in this role and could be too good again. MONT VENTOUX (9) is making his steeplechasing debut after a couple of brave recent efforts over hurdles. He is as tough as they come, and won't let you down. Include in all combinations.
