A solid tempo on the cards with Spills leading the way. FIRST EMPIRE (12) returned from a 52-day let-up with an encouraging second behind Ten Deep over 1200m at this track a fortnight ago. Strips fitter and will enjoy the extra 200m this time around. Looks a terrific chance to grab a well-deserved win with the blinkers applied for the first time. TEN DEEP (1) has a similar profile to First Empire who she fought hard to hold off when they meet here recently. That run also followed a freshen up and the extra trip is a plus. Gets a positive 1.5kgs weight swing so she is a live chance to win again. SUPERHERO (7) started warm favourite last start at Doomben but pulled up with cardiac arrhythmia so forget the run. Cherry ripe after two runs back and maps nicely from a favourable gate. AMUSEANTES (4) also holds claims. SUGGESTED PLAY: First Empire is ready to win.
