A small field that lacks a pacemaker. CHIRINGITA (1) was well backed first up at Pakenham to start a $2 favourite and on face value might look a touch disappointing, beaten three lengths. She pulled up with excuses there and we'll trust the market, her overseas form suggesting she's well up to this class and beyond if she can bounce back. PULA (8) looks primed third up off two good placings this time in. She draws to effect up on speed and will give a huge sight. CHAMPAGNE JENNI (3) resumed with a tidy win at Cranbourne over this trip. She can strip fitter and go on with it. THIS TIME GIRL (2) was okay fresh at 1400m and should be an improver second up to a mile. RAPID CHEVAL (6) worked home fairly fresh and can take holding out with that run under the belt. SUGGESTED PLAY: Chiringita on top.
