From the wide draw Mistress Of War can cross and set up a solid tempo. MISTRESS OF WAR (3) had been in sparkling form winning two races on end before just missing the frame here over this trip as favourite. Has a high cruising speed and despite the awkward gate is a decent chance to bounce. This is a step-up for STREAK OF GOD (5), but there was a lot to like about his easy Maiden win at Bunbury over 1700m. He's in the top barn and Pike sticks with him. The gate is a touch tricky but it wouldn't surprise to see him go on with the job. BLACK FOR CASH (1) gives away starts but savages the line. Placed here this trip and then at Belmont over a mile. The 3kg claim brings him right into it. ENDLESS JOY (8) is also racing well enough to consider. Did a big job beaten just 1.3L this track/trip/grade and then went close as a short-priced favourite at Albany in a 64. Keeps Faithfull from that and maps for a soft run. SUGGESTED PLAY: Leaning to Mistress Of War.
