Strong early tempo with Wanganella and Al Azhar leading the way.
STAY FROSTY (1) has gone close to winning twice in finishing runner-up in each of his 3 starts to date. He is having no luck at all with his barrier draws, but with any luck, he can get the job done here. MOONBEAMS (10) has needed time to mature, and she ran her best race yet when finishing runner-up here 11 days ago. She cops a good gate, and with Craig Grylls picking up the ride, she can go one better. AL AZHAR (11) was tried in front at Pukekohe a fortnight ago, and was only run down late when finishing eighth. There will be no fitness concerns fourth up from a spell, and she may even try to take them all the way again. PRESUMING (2) resumed with a fair effort for fifth at Waipukurau just over 3 weeks ago, and he will be in tighter condition for this. He has only been lightly tried for a 6-year-old gelding, and he can be a quick improver. Each way value. SHOW MERICAN (8) made progress last year, and she will be a lot stronger now. Include in all top 4 combinations. SUGGESTED PLAY: Stay Frosty can win this.
