Small field in which Shawshank can find the front comfortably at a moderate tempo. MONAGHAN BOY (2) struggled over 1600m at Ascot Park 8 days ago, and he also had a tough trip that day. He reverts to a sprint and will appreciate the superior gate. Stick with him. CANDLE (1) has raced her way back into some good form, and she only just missed at Ashburton last start in the same race as the top pick. She only needs some clear air in the run home to be hitting the line hard again. Each way. EYE SPY (3) built her form strongly to score at Riverton 3 weeks ago, and she only has to carry an extra 2.5kg in a similar field here. Hard to beat on her home track. ABIT SASSY (6) has come of age as a 6YO mare this prep, winning 2 of her last 3 starts. She is up in class, but down in weight, and she is good enough to figure in the top 4. SUGGESTED PLAY: Monaghan Boy to win.
