Solid tempo anticipated with Force Of Law and Brian pressing forward with Button Ya Lip not far away. ENSIGN ARIA (10) will be peaking third up, and she finds herself in a very winnable race here. A wet track is no problem, and stepping up from 1200m to 1400m will make all the difference. On top for us. TIMEX (6) has come back from her spell a lot stronger, and her last start third at Otaki was full of merit. She might want more ground, but she is still good enough to figure in the top 3 again. SECRETS (13) has been given a brief spell after finishing sixth on debut at Otaki in February. A wide gate is no help, but in an even contest, she is well worth including in all combinations to be safe. JUSTIFY THAT (5) drops back in trip after a battling effort over 2050m at Tauherenikau last time out. She has trialled well enough since then, and from a good draw, she can figure in the top 4. SCOTTY (2) had an excuse with a cut lip at Hawera last time out, after some good form earlier. He can make amends in this field, so stick with him. SUGGESTED PLAY: Ensign Aria each way.
