Genuine pace with Artfull finding the front but it won't be a picnic with a few other speedy types engaged. FUNSHOW (1) progressive gelding resuming. Finished runner-up in all three career starts behind some handy types. Strong through the line when second in a recent 1000m trial at Gosford. Will appreciate the 2kg claim with the visors going on. Will prove hard to hold out. ALPHA ZETA (10) chased hard on debut with a narrow third at Hawkesbury. Then no match for the smart Compensation with a fading sixth over 1100m at Rosehill. That from has since been franked and she stays in the calculations from the good draw. BROADWAY STREET (2) resumes. Kept safe in betting on debut with the 59kg to secure fourth over 1300m at Hawkesbury. Back without a trial and stays in the mix with Rawiller engaged. LE SMOKE (7) made her Australian debut after coming across from New Zealand with a tidy sixth over 1250m at Newcastle. Strips fitter from the better gate and has the upside to win this.
