Reasonable tempo with a few going forward, headed by Pequena Gold. MINIMISE (7) came off three trials and picked up nicely beaten 3L over 1400m this track on debut. There was a lot to like about that, and the step up to 1600m looks ideal. Maps well and Milnes sticks aboard. VALOR BOUND (3) resumed in the same race but was slow into stride and was expected to need the outing regardless. He'd switched from a leading Victorian barn, and three back was only beaten 2L over this trip at Donald on debut. Needs a good ride from the outside gate, but a much better effort is likely. MIZZEN JIB (2) debuted against the above pair and it was a fair effort after settling well back. Gets Crowther today and can get closer with the extra fitness. FINE ACE (5) peaks and has been mixing the form in sprints. He didn't manage a wide gate at The Parks last time, but showed enough three back at Oakbank to suggest she can win races. Has a 2kg claim, and there are indications that the step up to 1600m may suit. SUGGESTED PLAY: Minimise appeals most.
