Anaconda Jones might not get things his own way up front with a few first starters engaged. BARRON BILL (1) jumped an odds-on chance on debut in a Saturday race but bumped into a good winner. Pike remains in the saddle and coming back to a midweek maiden makes him stand out. Should get every chance from the draw and he can go one better this time around. IS THIS THING ON (7) has impressed in the trials coming into this, winning her past two in good fashion, the latest over 1000m. Watson has been on board all the way through and she maps beautifully from a good draw. Can make a statement on debut. ANACONDA JONES (2) led them up on debut in the same race as Barron Bill last time out and ended up in third, beaten 3.5L. The inside draw should see him up on the speed again and he'll be hard to run down. LENNY GOOD CHILD (11) was solid in his only trial coming into this and Chris Parnham sticks with him. Won't be far away. SUPERRIFIC (3) comes from a handy family and can feature on debut. SUGGESTED PLAY: Barron Bill can go one better this time around.
