Off the low draw He's Platinum is likely to find the lead at a slick tempo. FREE BIRD (8) probably needed her last start when finishing seventh as the favourite at Pukekohe on a very testing heavy track. She will be spot on third up over a more suitable trip of 1600m, and with a drop in class, she is good enough to take this out. CALMTHEFARM (15) caught the eye on debut when charging home late to finish runner-up over this trip at Pukekohe. He has been given plenty of time to get over that effort, and a recent trial would have maintained his fitness levels. His first win is not far away. LAGISQUET (6) has turned the corner with his form recently, and the addition of blinkers has helped him. He is coping with a wet track, and he can go one better this time. DEL INQUENT (11) has been a beaten favourite on more than one occasion, and he will be a lot stronger this year. He looked in good nick when winning a recent trial, and with some luck from a wide gate, he can figure in the top 4. VESPHIRE (10) is overdue for another win, and she can get the job done here. SUGGESTED PLAY: Free Bird can win this.
